Description
New Android apps now build their release with R8 (
minifyEnabled true). The template already usesproguard-android-optimize.txt.npx cap migratemakes the same change in the release block of existing apps, and prints the manual step when it can't find aminifyEnabledline there. Apps can opt out by setting it back tofalse.shrinkResourcesstays off.Google Play will require code optimization for larger apps from February 2027.
