Full stack developer: React · TypeScript · SPFx · Rust · Johannesburg, South Africa
Self-taught developer with nearly three years of commercial experience building enterprise React/TypeScript applications, including SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solutions on Microsoft 365. In my own time I build developer tooling in Rust, including a fork of the Zed editor that adds a suite of native panels.
| Project | What it is |
|---|---|
| Zed Developer Tooling Suite | A fork of Zed with native Rust/GPUI panels: package managers, live multi-database connections with schema graphs, a visual workflow engine, a workspace dashboard and system monitoring. Experimental, tested on Windows. |
| Mentenaz Forge | A cross-platform developer IDE with a Tauri v2/Rust backend and a React/TypeScript frontend. v0.2.4 Developer Preview for Windows and Linux, released through a two-repo GitHub Actions pipeline (forge-landing-page). |
| Forge.Rust.LSP | Rust language-server proxies for Forge (Python and C#) that locate or install the underlying server on first use. |
| AI Twin | A personal AI assistant built on Supabase: pgvector retrieval, a scheduled learning loop with pg_cron, and streaming Edge Functions. |
- GPUI scaling: GPUI had no zoom, pan or fit-view support, so I added it. Upstream PR in preparation.
- gpui-flow: patched the third-party canvas crate with the same zoom, pan and fit-view handling, which now drives both the workflow editor and the database schema graph. Upstream PR in preparation.
- Zed extension API: shared what a real set of editor panels needs from Zed's proposed extension API in the Visual Extension API RFC.
- Languages: TypeScript, Rust, JavaScript, Python, SQL
- Frontend: React, Next.js, SharePoint Framework (SPFx)
- Backend and cloud: Azure Functions, Microsoft Graph API, Power Automate, Supabase (PostgreSQL), REST APIs
- Tooling: Tauri, GPUI, GitHub Actions, Git
