Summary

  • Adds optional snapshots: camera/image entities with ESP-initiated, separately authenticated JPEG media WebSockets compatible with hass-ws-bridge 2.1.
  • Keeps camera imports and C++ support optional; snapshot configurations require ESPHome 2026.10+, while ordinary ws_bridge configurations retain their prior schema compatibility.
  • Uses a dedicated media worker, bounded latest-frame retention, fragmented text-response reassembly, one-use media sessions, stage deadlines, bounded retry backoff, and generation-safe stale-event handling.
  • Retains the TLS symbols required by ESP WebSocket client and fixes the Event FixedVector compatibility path for ESPHome 2026.10.

Validation

  • Sol independent final review: zero actionable findings at 17ff440ec3e616ba0e17f7cf646ef4d0d3b8ef04.
  • Focused actual-C++ host-stub harness: confirmed_defects=0, covering denied/open admission retry bounds, missing media-connect deadline recovery, camera-frame release after media failure, dropped START recovery, and stale terminal events.
  • ESPHome 2026.10 config and compile passed for the existing full ws_bridge fixture, camera/image snapshot fixture, and ssl: false fixture before the final generation-only fix; GitHub CI is running the full final-SHA matrix.
  • ESPHome 2026.7.4: ordinary configuration passed; snapshot configuration correctly rejects with the explicit 2026.10 minimum.
