No user impact expected.

This change readies the database for the "paid subscription changed" trigger. It adds a new trigger_type and some new trigger data, similar to what we did for per-tier triggers.

It looks like this PR contains a migration 👀
Here's the checklist for reviewing migrations:

General requirements

  • ⚠️ Tested performance on staging database servers, as performance on local machines is not comparable to a production environment - N/A, just adding columns to a small existing table + adding a new table
  • Satisfies idempotency requirement (both up() and down())
  • Does not reference models
  • Filename is in the correct format (and correctly ordered)
  • Targets the next minor version
  • All code paths have appropriate log messages
  • Uses the correct utils
  • Contains a minimal changeset
  • Does not mix DDL/DML operations

Schema changes

  • Both schema change and related migration have been implemented
  • For index changes: has been performance tested for large tables - N/A
  • For new tables/columns: fields use the appropriate predefined field lengths
  • For new tables/columns: field names follow the appropriate conventions
  • Does not drop a non-alpha table outside of a major version

Data changes

  • Mass updates/inserts are batched appropriately - N/A
  • Does not loop over large tables/datasets - N/A
  • Defends against missing or invalid data - N/A
  • For settings updates: follows the appropriate guidelines - N/A

Walkthrough

The data schema and migration add the paid_subscription_changed trigger type, source and destination tier scopes, and a table for selected transition tiers. The backup table list and exporter integration test include the new table.

Priority: ⬇️ Low

Change: Feature

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 4a358

The backup implementation is in place, but the new test does not confirm that transition-tier records appear in backups. Add that assertion before relying on the test for this behavior.

Full details: Type-Safe Boundaries

Explanation

The PR adds database schema and migration declarations only. New scope and direction values use isIn validation, with non-null and foreign-key constraints. The exporter change adds a static table name; it does not add new boundary parsing or interpretation. No any, unchecked as, @ts-nocheck, or @ts-ignore was introduced, and no duplicated Zod-derived type was added.

Full details: New Files Are Typescript

Explanation

The PR adds one JavaScript file: ghost/core/server/data/migrations/versions/6.73/2026-10-21-21-22-34-add-automation-subscription-change-tier-scopes.js. The file is a database migration under ghost/core/server/data/migrations/, which the check explicitly excludes. All other changed files are pre-existing files.

Full details: Tooling Ownership

Explanation

All four changed paths stay with the owning Core data subsystem or its adjacent integration test. The migration is under ghost/core/server/data/migrations/versions/6.73, schema changes are in data/schema, and the exporter list/test are in data/exporter and ghost/test/integration/exporter. No scripts, tools, configs, or bin path changed, so the PR introduces no tooling ownership or execution-placement problem.

Add record-level coverage for the transition-tier backup path.

The changed test calls doExport() without include and checks only the table key. doExport() creates that key for every schema table, even when it does not query any rows. The assertion therefore passes without proving backup record inclusion.

The existing allowlist test detects removal from BACKUP_TABLES, but the include-path tests and backup API tests do not assert returned records. Add a transition-tier fixture row and assert that it appears in data.automation_trigger_transition_tiers through the included backup/export path.

## Formatting

Source formatting is owned by [Oxfmt](https://oxc.rs/docs/guide/usage/formatter),
configured in the root `.oxfmtrc.json`: Oxfmt defaults plus single quotes, with
embedded-language formatting disabled so string contents are never rewritten.
CI rejects unformatted code, and the pre-commit hook formats staged files
automatically, so there is usually nothing to do. To format manually:

```bash
pnpm format path/to/file.ts
```
