Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added validate --git <base> to limit warnings to changed documents and their dependents. Errors and selected bundle-wide warnings remain visible, and validation falls back to a full warning report if scoping fails.
    • Validation results now include document counts, including the scoped count when applicable.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Validation treats links and resources that resolve outside the bundle as missing.
    • YAML warnings and command errors are handled more safely, and bundle reads are limited to 32 concurrent files.
  • Documentation
    • Added guidance and examples for Git-scoped validation and running validation with npx.

Scan the whole bundle and report every error, but limit warnings to docs
changed or deleted since <base> and their dependents (including links from
index.md/log.md). orphan, recommended-index and okf-version-* stay
bundle-wide. Git errors fail closed; if scoping fails (e.g. an oversized
file), validate the whole bundle.
Silence yaml warnings, sanitize escaped errors, contain symlinks in validate,
escape markdown labels, bound concurrent reads, disable core.fsmonitor for
git (resolves #2), and stop reading options and frontmatter through the prototype chain.
…pLimit after failure, keep frontmatter prototype-less, explain scoping fallback

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds validate --git warning scopes while keeping errors bundle-wide. It also adds bundle-contained symlink checks and updates Git invocation, input handling, concurrent reads, and CLI output formatting.

Changes

Validation and security hardening

Layer / File(s) Summary
Shared input and resource safeguards
AGENTS.md, CHANGELOG.md, src/security.ts, src/parse.ts, src/limits.ts, src/index.ts, src/graph.ts, src/mermaid.ts, test/pollution.test.ts, test/parse.test.ts, test/size-limit.test.ts
Option reads now use own properties. YAML frontmatter is copied to null-prototype objects. Graph loading uses a 32-read concurrency limit. Tests cover these behaviors.
Scoped validation and path containment
src/validate.ts, test/validate.test.ts
validate accepts a document scope for warning reporting, while retaining all errors and selected bundle-wide warnings. Resource and link checks reject targets that resolve outside the bundle.
Git command safeguards
src/git.ts, SECURITY.md, test/git.test.ts
Git commands disable core.fsmonitor; diff commands also disable external diff drivers. The security policy documents Git configuration limitations.
Git-scoped validation CLI
AGENTS.md, CHANGELOG.md, README.md, bin/okph.ts, test/cli.test.ts
The CLI accepts --git for validate and scopes warnings to changed documents and dependents. It retains bundle-wide errors and specified warnings, reports scope counts, and falls back to full validation when scope calculation fails.
CLI output escaping
bin/okph.ts, test/cli.test.ts
Markdown link labels escape HTML characters. CLI errors use terminal-safe formatting.

Callers that explicitly disable navigation links can receive extra affected documents. This is a bounded issue, but the option should be corrected before relying on those results.
