Are invoice CronJobs (billingCollectInvoices, billingAdvanceInvoices) required for entitlement-only usage?

Hi OpenMeter team,

I’m deploying OpenMeter OSS via the official Helm chart and would like to clarify the intended behavior of the billing-related CronJobs.

Environment:

• OpenMeter chart version: 1.0.0-beta.227
• Deployment method: official Helm chart from GHCR

We are using OpenMeter mainly for:

• usage metering
• customer subscriptions
• metered entitlements / API credits
• entitlement balance calculation
• threshold/reset notifications via webhook

We are not using OpenMeter as the customer-facing payment or invoicing system. Stripe/payment handling remains in our own portal/application. OpenMeter invoice objects are not intended to be customer-facing invoices or financial records in this POC.

Question:

In this setup, are the following CronJobs required?

• openmeter-billing-collect-invoices
• openmeter-billing-advance-invoices

From the chart values, I can configure their schedules:

jobs:
  subscriptionSync:
    schedule: "0 * * * *"
  billingCollectInvoices:
    schedule: "*/5 * * * *"
  billingAdvanceInvoices:
    schedule: "*/5 * * * *"

But I don’t see an enabled or suspend option for these job entries in the official Helm values.

What I would like to confirm:

1. If OpenMeter is only used for subscription entitlements, usage credits, balance calculation, and notifications, can billingCollectInvoices and billingAdvanceInvoices be safely disabled/suspended?
2. Is subscriptionSync still recommended to keep enabled for subscription/entitlement consistency?
3. If disabling the two invoice CronJobs is acceptable, is patching the Kubernetes CronJobs currently the recommended approach?
   For example:

4. Would the Helm chart consider adding an enabled or suspend option for these jobs?

Hi! No they are only required for invoicing.

Subscription sync and the billing worker is required.

You can patch the cronjobs but if you feel like patching the helm chart contributions are more than welcome. <3
